This training module introduces the concept of Delegated Limits of Authority (DLA), explains why organisations use them, and shows how they support effective governance, accountability and decision‑making.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this training module, you will be able to:
- define what a DLA is
- explain why DLAs are essential for organisational effectiveness
- understand your role and responsibilities within our DLA Policy:
- if you have a delegated authority; or
- you know who in your team and division has a delegated authority and their responsibilities
- know how to use the DLA Policy and know where to access it when required.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this training, you will understand how to:
- Identify the purpose of the Chart of Accounts (COA), COA segments and explain how they work together to support accurate reporting.
- Apply the correct Unit, Project, Funding, and Natural codes by referencing the Active Project Combinations Spreadsheet.
- Analyse transaction reports to confirm spending, coding accuracy, and alignment with project activity.
- Use key finance tools; such as scheduled reports and the General Journal Form, to complete routine financial tasks accurately.
- Follow simple best practices to avoid errors, delays, and incorrect coding, and know where to find the latest templates and support when guidance is needed.
