This module provides healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to support cervical screening through self‑collection. It outlines how to facilitate self‑collection safely and appropriately, and clarifies what falls within scope of practice. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this learning module, you will be able to:

1. Describe how cervical cancer develops.
2. Identify the role of screening in cervical cancer prevention.
3. Explain the benefits, accuracy, and science behind self-collection for cervical screening.
4. Set up a clinic workflow to support self-collection.
5. Facilitate a patient-led self-collected cervical screening test confidently and safely.
6. Identify the results follow-up pathways.
